SERDANG, 7 DIS 2023 – Held in UPM's Serdang Briefing Hall, the handing over of the UPM X MyFundAction fund collection took place to help Palestinians affected by Israel's ongoing attacks on Palestine.

The UPM X MyFundAction fund was created along with the UPM Solidarity Program for Palestine on 10 November 2023 at the UPM Tan Sri Aishah Ghani College Hall (KTAG). Almost 500 students and UPM communities gathered to express solidarity with the Palestinian people who continue to receive atrocities from Israel.

The handover of the collection fund with the total of RM 32,202.14 was completed by UPM Vice Chancellor, Dato' Prof. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah to the representative of MyFundAction, Miss Athirah Mohd Affandi. Overall, this fund is managed by MyFundAction to be channeled to the Palestinian people who are in dire need of help and support at the moment.

Also present at this ceremony, Deputy Vice Chancellor of Student and Alumni Affairs (TNCHEPA), Prof. Dr. Arifin Abdu; Director of the Co-Curriculum and Student Development Center (PKPP), Ybhg. Prof. Associate Dr. Omrah Hassan@Hussin; and also the Deputy Director of the Alumni Relations Center (ARCUPM), Mr. Fahmi Azar Mistar.

This collaboration is not the first time between ARCUPM and MyFundAction. Previously, ARCUPM and MyFundAction had collaborated for the UPM Prihatin 3K Kit Program which was in the form of essential items when the country was hit by the Covid-19 pandemic. The collaboration continues with the Putra@Jannah Alumni Program in which 3000 pairs of new clothes were distributed for the needy to ease the burden for the last Aidilfitri celebration. The collaboration continues with the distribution of 3000 packs of Ready To Eat (RTE) food to new UPM students for the 2023/2024 session.

To date, the total amount of donations through all the collaborations that have been established has reached the amount of RM 1,391,445.14 which is quite a big number.

To show continued support for the Palestinian people, UPM's MyAqsa Club was also established. The club intended by TNCHEPA itself is seen to be the best platform in expressing support and solidarity for Palestine. It is hoped that with the creation of this club, various activities that can benefit students and the community can be continued in the future.

ARCUPM would like to express its highest appreciation and gratitude for this collaboration, in an effort to help students, communities and the world in need. Hopefully the next collaboration in the 2024 International Volunteering Program between MyFundAction and UPM to the Syrian Refugee Camp will run smoothly. It is hoped that it will be the starting point for cooperation at the international level.
